Abbigale Perkins

Abbigale Perkins received her BA in Biology from Howard University in 2020, where she worked as an undergraduate research assistant to Dr. Karl Thompson. She is broadly interested in bacterial genetics and is currently researching on RpoS, a sigma factor responsible for regulating stress responses and conditions in E. coli. Specifically her work focuses on finding novel regulators that down-regulate RpoS by translation or hyper degradation, not much is known about factors that down-regulate RpoS. 


Laboratory Techniques: Gel Electrophoresis, PCR, Transformation,  Bacteriophage P1 transduction
